General Guidelines for using

The American Scientific Glassblowers Society

Trademarked Logo

The well known ASGS symbol became a registered trademark owned and controlled by the ASGS on August 18, 1992. We encourage our members to use the trademark.

To ensure that the American Scientific Glassblowers Society Trademark is used effectively, these guidelines must be followed:

1. Authorization - The trademark may be used only by members in good standing with the ASGS or authorized representatives.

2. Reproduction - The official ASGS symbol must be reproduced in its entirety, and cannot be redrawn, re-proportioned, or modified in any way.

3. Usage - When used by a member, the words "member of" must appear directly below the base of the logo. The words "member of' will be in the same font size (or larger) as the words "The American Scientific Glassblowers Society." Sample sheets suitable for reproduction may be obtained from the ASGS National Office.

4. Overprinting - At no time is the trademark to be printed on top of a photograph or a work of art, or on top of other words. The trademark must never be encumbered with any other visual distractions.

5. Use with Company Letterhead - The ASGS trademark may not appear in any company's letterhead. It may be used on the bottom of the page with the words "member of" (see #3) provided that there are members of the ASGS employed at that company.

6. Endorsement - When using the trademark, care must be exercised to ensure that there is no implied endorsement.

If questions arise as to use of the trademark, contact the ASGS Executive Secretary or the ASGS National Office for clarification.

Respectfully Submitted, The ASGS Publications Committee
