The Membership Committee has many responsibilities. The foremost function is to process new applications for the ASGS. This involves reviewing the information on the application and determining that it is correct and assigning the proper membership status to the new member. The Committee is also responsible for generating the annual dues notice, membership applications, changes membership status, produces, and mails membership certificates and cards, and responds to any questions regarding membership are routine functions. The Membership Committee takes an active role in recruiting new members to the ASGS by supplying informative literature and applications to those who show an interest in the ASGS and scientific glassblowing.
