Women's Outreach Program

(An extension of the Outreach Committee)

 
 
Proposed objective:
   
  •  
The women's outreach program is a new collaborative effort aimed to encourage women within the scientific glassblowing field to actively participate in the American Scientific Glassblowers Society.
   
   
Goals:
   
  •  
To encourage active participation of Junior, Regular, and Associate Membership in the ASGS.
   
  •  
Promote attendance and involvement in national and sectional meetings.
   
  •  
Create a positive awareness of women in the workplace.
   
  •  
Develop an open forum for women to discuss professional and related issues.
   
  •  
To address healthcare and safety issues that uniquely affect women in their work environments.
  (i.e. pregnancy)
   
   

Focus Issues:

   
  •  
Volunteering in the ASGS, increase membership contribution year.
   
  •  

Encouraging women to give seminars, workshops, artistic demos, posters, technical papers, write articles for FUSION.

   
  •  
Women motivational speakers at symposiums.
   
  •  
Knowing about politics in the ASGS, how to run for office
   
  •  
Networking with women in scientific glassblowing nationally and internationally; involvement on the ASGS computer forum and educational network system.
   
  •
