FUSION

Journal of the
American Scientific Glassblowers Society
 
 

FUSION is one of several publications that the ASGS provides free to members in an effort to communicate the latest scientific glassblowing techniques and information. With input from a world-wide subscription base, FUSION is the premiere publication of the scientific glassblowing industry. Since its inception in 1952, FUSION has chronicled the development of materials, techniques, and procedures to allow fast dissemination of this critical information.

 

In addition to the quarterly FUSION Journal, the ASGS publishes The Proceedings of the Annual Symposium. It contains full copies of presentations  from the past Symposium. This publication is provided free to ASGS members.

 
 

Each issue of FUSION contains the following information:

Calendar of Events detailing local, national and international meetings

Articles or papers for publication in FUSION may be submitted by members or non-members and must be received by the editor according to the following schedule:

 
For the publication date of: Articles must be received by:
   
February December 15
May March 15
August June 15
November September 15
 
 

Board of Directors Secretary, Sectional Directors, Committee Chairs, and Symposium Chairs, please follow the same schedule. The deadlines are not flexible. Each submission must be in possession of the Editor by the deadline at 5:00 P.M.

Abstract: Extending the length of glass coils is often necessary for repair or fabrication of new apparatus. Two methods of splicing shorter lengths of coils together to form longer coils are discussed, one method using the lathe and one at the bench.
