GLASSBLOWERS TECHNICAL RESOURCE

Welcome
From its inception in 1952, the American Scientific Glassblowers Society has provided a means for communication between scientific glassblowers with the sole purpose of sharing information about glassblowing. Through technical paper presentations, symposium workshops, and seminars, the A.S.G.S. has chronicled the development of techniques and has shared this information with members. By presenting this information for public review, we hope to enlighten all in the techniques associated with scientific glassblowing.
As a favorite tool of science, glassware has, in many cases, helped scientists maintain their lead in cutting-edge technology. Virtually all of the information contained in these pages has been conceived, developed, and authored by members of the A.S.G.S. Information regarding glass distillation, sublimation, extraction, glass vacuum systems, vacuum pumps, glass-to-metal, ceramic-to-glass, and specialized glass apparatus are discussed in detail in the following pages.
Due to its unique properties, glass continues to be an essential component of industry, science, art, and our everyday world. The American Scientific Glassblowers Society is dedicated to providing continuing education for its members and maintaining the successful association between scientific glassblowers and all of the various enterprises which entail glass fabrication.
A password will be supplied to A.S.G.S. members for the Methods and Projects sections of this site.
Enjoy!
