The Southeastern Section of the ASGS is pleased to announce that our spring meeting will be held in Knoxville, TN and will include a tour of Oak Ridge National Laboratory. |

We will have a block of rooms at the Hilton Knoxville. (www.knoxville.hilton.com) It’s a beautiful hotel right downtown and the rooms will only be $89 per night. You can reach the Hilton Knoxville at (865)523-2300 to reserve your room. The cutoff date for this price is March 1, after that, rooms may be as much as $130 if space is available. Make sure the hotel is aware that you’re part of the ASGS room block when making your reservation. There are shuttles from McGhee-Tyson Airport to the hotel. |

| Meet in hotel lobby to board bus for ORNL Tour The Southeastern Section is proud to include a tour of Oak Ridge National Laboratory during this year’s meeting. Please take advantage of a rare opportunity to visit this amazing and extensive facility. The Oak Ridge Reservation was instrumental in the development of the atomic bomb, and today performs research in areas including nano materials, alternative energy sources, national security and neutron sciences. We will get a general tour in the morning, break for lunch, and then tour the glass shop and the carbon fiber research area. We should arrive back at the hotel at approximately 4pm. You MUST be pre-registered for this tour, supply your name and country of citizenship, and bring a picture ID the day of the tour. If the required information is not supplied 3 weeks before the tour, you will not be able to join us! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| After the Business Meeting you will be on your own to explore the city of Knoxville or people can carpool down to the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area for the outlet malls, restaurants and Dollywood. Downtown Knoxville provides a trolley bus which runs all over the city. Gay St and Market Square have plenty to offer in the way of tasty restaurants and shopping. There are also many tourist attractions and historical sites to visit and info on them will be included in the packets you’ll be receiving at registration. Also, feel free to go to www.Knoxville.org to peruse all the city has to offer! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

Boarding begins at 6;00 with a 6:30 departure. Business casual attire. We will enjoy a scenic cruise up the TN river including views of Neyland Stadium, University of TN Agricultural grounds and beautiful shoreline properties. Included is a 3 course meal and a full service cash bar on the top deck. Check out the website, www.volunteerprincess.com and see what’s in store! I took a sunset cruise in October 09 to judge for myself and we had an amazing time! |
