Southwest Section Meeting

The Southwest Section Meeting will be held at the Glassblowing Laboratory in the Stephenson Life Sciences Research Center at the University of Oklahoma on October 6th beginning at 9:00am.  The day will begin with coffee and light morning snacks followed by a business meeting.  Demonstrations and glass discussions will follow the meeting.  After an order-in lunch, we will travel to the Oklahoma City Museum of Art to view the permanent 14 room Dale Chihuly glass exhibit.  After a couple of hours touring the glass exhibit, we will return to Norman for dinner and beverages. Dinner is still in the planning stages.

We have secured a block of rooms at the Marriott Conference Center at the National Center for Employee Development Center (http://cc.nced.com/). This hotel has amenities galore, as it accommodates US Postal Employees who receive training at the Educational Center. Please check out the hotel on the link provided.  We have reserved queen rooms for $109 per night which includes an exceptional breakfast!  If needed, other room options are available.

We will have a reception at the Hotel's bar beginning at approximately 5:00pm on Friday, October 5th.  We can decide dinner arrangements at the reception.  The hotel has a small dinner menu at the bar and an extensive dinner buffet.  Or we can go to a restaurant in Norman.

Please contact Erin Mayberry to RSVP as soon as possible so that we can change the room block arrangement if needed.  Tentative reservation cut-off date to receive reduced rates is September 23rd.  We will be updating this announcement if and when any changes are occur.  Please visit the Southwest Section News page often for details.  Of course, email announcements/updates will be sent as changes occur.
